LAAN is a self-organised community of LSE alumni from across the Netherlands.
About
LAAN is a vibrant community for LSE alumni and friends, both from and in the Netherlands. Our focus is on connecting people, creating meaningful experiences and learning together.
Whether you’re new to the Netherlands, recently returned from studying in London, or just passing through, we’d love for you to join us. We organize monthly borrels (informal gatherings) in Amsterdam, along with social activities and inspiring talks. Most of our events take place in Amsterdam or The Hague.
We’re a small but dedicated team of organizers, and we’re always open to fresh ideas. There’s always something happening, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of it. We hope to see you at one of our events soon!

Stephany Breytenbach
Stephany joined LAAN in 2022. She loves bringing people and communities together. She never really explains what she means by that, but we’re thrilled to have her along for the ride. She graduated in 2021 with an MSc Conflict Studies.

Rajarshi Sahai
Outreach
Rajarshi Rakesh Sahai joined LAAN at the end of 2024, bringing his networking energy to team. His professional experience spans urban mobility, electric vehicles, strategy, business leadership and boards. At LAAN, Rajarshi focuses on partnerships and our flagship events. So essentially, he’s the ‘suit’ in our team! -
Claire Helfrich
Claire graduated from LSE in 2012 with a MSc in Social Policy and Development. Born a Dutchie, she has grown up all over the world (including Brazil, Hungary and the UK) but has recently returned to the Netherlands. She loves animals and has a wild animal story to tell at every borrel.
