Instead of our usual monthly borrel at the Ox and Bucks, LAAN is coming together with other university alumni organisations in the Netherlands -- MIT and Oxcam -- to organise a wonderful night of conversation and connection. Join of an evening of great company, good drinks, and sharp minds at the Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam, just a few steps from Amsterdam Centraal Station.

Join us for an expert panel discusion on the future of aid at The Hague Humanity Hub. It is a great opportunity to learn about the latest trends in global aid and to netwerk with peers from the sector.

This event is organized in collaboration with two LSE student societies as part of their trip to The Hague. If you have experience in international development, we’d love for you to join and share your insights with our students.

UPDATE: We are meeting at a different location tonight: at OX and Buck at Strawinskylaan 11. It is less than 100 meters from the previous venue, so no need to update to change your travel plans. We hope to see you tonight!

December is usually a busy month for everyone. What with the end of year, holiday season, and trying to close on those Q4 figures, many of us are looking for a place to blow off steam when it’s all over. For those of you staying in Amsterdam for the Christmas holidays, LAAN is hosting monthly drinks on Friday the 27th of December (not our regular Thursday). Feel free to join us for a festive borrel at Market 33, and we shall raise a glass to the upcoming new year.

UPDATE: For the foreseeable future, we are hosting our monthly borrels at Market 33 in Amsterdam Zuid. It’s right by Station Zuid and offers lovely food and drinks.

It’s that time again: LAAN is hosting our monthly drinks for the Dutch LSE Community! Every last Thursday of the month, we get together for a good old Dutch borrel. Since this month’s drinks falls on the holiday of Halloween and during the Festival of Diwali, we would like to welcome everyone to dress up (either in your best Diwali party outfit or a Halloween costume). It is not required, but highly encouraged! We meet at our regular haunt, Hanneke’s Boom, but depending on the weather, we might change to a warmer location.
